Monthly Sacred Heart Promises Pilgrimage (Bowmansville)

January 1, 2027

Sacred Heart of Jesus Diocesan Shrine will hold a monthly Sacred Heart of Jesus Promises pilgrimage at 8 a.m. on the first Friday of the month, from July 3 through June 2027, at the shrine, 5337 Genesee St., Bowmansville. This observance is in celebration of the shrine’s 100th anniversary and its outdoor Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Shrine and Altar of Reparation. Each month, participants will read and focus the day’s homilies and teachings on one of the 12 promises that Jesus extended to those who are devoted to His Sacred Heart and shared with St. Mary Alacoque.

The pilgrimage days will begin with Holy Mass at 8 a.m., followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Litany to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Holy Rosary. Adoration will continue throughout the day until 6:30 p.m., ending with Benediction, Holy Mass, and the Litany to the Sacred Heart.

During Adoration, there will be a dedicated Children’s & Family Holy Hour from 4 to 5 p.m. (an active holy hour dedicated to children and families as children learn to sit with Jesus), reconciliation from 5 to 6 p.m., and the Holy Rosary at 5:15 p.m.

The June pilgrimage will also include a special reception for the shrine’s 100th anniversary.
