Lourdes Virtual Pilgrimage (Bowmansville)

Sacred Heart of Jesus Diocesan Shrine will hold a virtual pilgrimage from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 29, at the outdoor shrine and gardens (or in the church if weather is bad), 5337 Genesee St., Bowmansville. This pilgrimage will focus on healing for the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto at the Shrine, a healing of mind, body, and soul.
Many cannot travel to Lourdes, France, to experience what Lourdes is all about: Our Lady’s appearances, St. Bernadette, the healing spring waters, the rocks of Lourdes, the processions. The shrine will bring Lourdes, France, to participants here in Western New York.
Hear the history and story of Our Lady’s Apparitions in Lourdes, France; experience spring water directly from Lourdes; touch rocks from the Lourdes Grotto in France that Our Lady appeared on; receive Anointing of the Sick and Reconciliation; adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament; and pray the rosary in a candlelit procession with the Blessed Sacrament.
A team of volunteers will assist individuals with mobility limitations who arrive with walkers or wheelchairs so that all visitors can fully participate in all the healings offered.
The event is free, and good will offerings will be accepted for the mission of the Lourdes Volunteer Programs.
