2024 Spring Appeal – “This is My Body… This is My Blood.”
Path of Miracles is a masterwork composed by Joby Talbot (Wonka, Sing, Sing 2, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy). Written for 17 voices, Path of Miracles is a choral travelog of the Camino de Santiago, which includes excerpts from medieval songs, liturgies, and poetry from the 11th and 12th centuries, which surround the historical and penitential journey that millions of travelers have made throughout the centuries.
Detailing the journey from Roncesvalles, to Burgos, León, and then Santiago, the work recalls the life and martyrdom of St. James, the agony and suffering of the pilgrims, the hope and wonder of God’s graces, and the triumphant thanksgiving of arrival.
Harmonia Chamber Singers’ performance this March will be a Western New York premiere of the piece.
GRAMMY® award winning conductor Adam Luebke (Music Director, Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus) will guest conduct Harmonia at Our Lady of Victory Basilica and St. Louis Church in Buffalo, NY.
