2024 Spring Appeal – “This is My Body… This is My Blood.”
“Seeking the Heart of God: in Scripture and in Art.” Join us for a Lenten Meditation on the scriptural roots of the Sacred Heart devotion and and introduction to the visual development of the devotion in Christian art.
Our presenter is Mrs. Ann Schmalstieg Barrett, a Pittsburgh based artist who is inspired by Catholic thought and devotion. In addition to creating paintings for public and private prayer spaces, Ann teaches painting workshops at St. Edmund’s Sacred Art Institute (Enders Island, CT) and is an adjunct instructor at Franciscan University (Steubenville, OH). Her work can be viewed on Instagram @annschmlstieg_art.
