2024 Spring Appeal – “This is My Body… This is My Blood.”
SACRED HEART OF JESUS DIOCESAN SHRINE INVITES ALL TO MONTHLY FIRST FRIDAY & FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS
All are invited to come and join us in prayer for the monthly First Friday and First Saturday Devotions at Sacred Heart of Jesus Diocesan Shrine at 5337 Genesee Street in Bowmansville, NY.
St. Margaret Mary Alacoque reported visions of Jesus directing her to promote devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on nine consecutive First Fridays in reparation for sins and in order to show our love for Jesus. This devotion is officially sanctioned by the Catholic Church. Our First Friday Devotion starts with Mass at 8am, followed by the Litany to The Sacred Heart of Jesus, all day Adoration until 7PM when we begin a Holy Hour of Reparation in prayer followed then by Benediction.
The First Saturday Devotion is one of the principal points of the Fatima Message. It centers on the urgent need for mankind to offer reparation for the sins of blasphemy and ingratitude committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary on five consecutive Saturdays. Our First Saturday Devotion also begins with Mass at 8am, followed by a Novena and the Holy Rosary.
