2024 Spring Appeal – “This is My Body… This is My Blood.”
It was great to see many of you at our Men’s Breakfast this month, where Fr. Richard spoke to us about Fatima and our Blessed Mother’s request for us to observe First Saturdays, by receiving the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confession; and reciting the Holy Rosary. We are asked to observe 5-consecutive first Saturdays. Come to our next Men’s Breakfast on November 5 and you will be able to complete 5 First Saturdays before Easter. The next breakfast will feature our guest speaker, Deacon Steve Schumer, President and CEO of Catholic Charities of Buffalo. Deacon Steve’s talk is titled: “The Catholic Church and Migrant Peoples.” With a lot of focus on immigration these days, this is a very timely topic. Deacon Steve will also share with us the ministry and mission of Catholic Charities. Verse for the day: “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” – Matthew 25:35
Just a reminder, we have moved the breakfast to the Fatima Shrine – 1023 Swann Rd, in Lewiston, NY, to tie our breakfast in with their first Saturday Devotion. We will meet for an optional breakfast in the cafeteria at 9:00 AM. The schedule is as follows and you can come to one or all of the segments:
9:00 AM – Breakfast (optional – $6.50)
9:30 – 10:30 – Guest Speaker – Deacon Steve Schumer, President and CEO Catholic Charities of Buffalo
11:00 – Rosary/Confession
11:30 – Mass
12:15 – Adoration
