SUMMARY:Monthly Sacred Heart Promises Pilgrimage (Bowmansville)
DESCRIPTION:Sacred Heart of Jesus Diocesan Shrine will hold a monthly Sacred Heart of Jesus Promises pilgrimage at 8 a.m. on the first Friday of the month\, from July 3 through June 2027\, at the shrine\, 5337 Genesee St.\, Bowmansville. This observance is in celebration of the shrine’s 100th anniversary and its outdoor Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Shrine and Altar of Reparation. Each month\, participants will read and focus the day’s homilies and teachings on one of the 12 promises that Jesus extended to those who are devoted to His Sacred Heart and shared with St. Mary Alacoque. \nThe pilgrimage days will begin with Holy Mass at 8 a.m.\, followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament\, the Litany to the Sacred Heart of Jesus\, and the Holy Rosary. Adoration will continue throughout the day until 6:30 p.m.\, ending with Benediction\, Holy Mass\, and the Litany to the Sacred Heart. \nDuring Adoration\, there will be a dedicated Children’s & Family Holy Hour from 4 to 5 p.m. (an active holy hour dedicated to children and families as children learn to sit with Jesus)\, reconciliation from 5 to 6 p.m.\, and the Holy Rosary at 5:15 p.m. \nThe June pilgrimage will also include a special reception for the shrine’s 100th anniversary. \nTo learn about other ways of inviting the Sacred Heart of Jesus into your home\, visit www.sacredheartshrine.org. \n\n“Today\, it seems as though Jesus’s Promises are like unopened gifts. The patriotic Rosary is a recitation of the Holy Rosary that invokes God’s blessings on our country\, each state individually\, and every soul in every state. Participants pray especially for veterans\, living and dead\, and active military. They additionally pray for government officials\, police\, and firefighters; read passages written by the founding fathers that clearly show that we are a Christian nation founded on Christian principles; and sing patriotic songs. It is a beautiful prayer event that fosters love for God and country.

SUMMARY:Our Lady of Fatima Mass and Processions (Bowmansville)
DESCRIPTION:Sacred Heart of Jesus Diocesan Shrine will celebrate Our Lady of Fatima with Mass and processions at 6:30 p.m. on the 13th of each month\, from May through October.\nJoin in celebrating Our Lady’s appearances and the messages that she shared with three young shepherd children in Fatima\, Portugal\, in 1917. Our Lady of Fatima came to share some very important messages for all of humanity: prayer in the Holy Rosary\, fasting\, devotion to her Immaculate Heart\, and sacrifice to obtain peace for the world and the conversion of sinners.\nOur Lady appeared to the children on the 13th of every month from May through October. We acknowledge her appearances and requests of us on these same days with a monthly Holy Mass\, Rosary\, reading of her messages to the children\, and a procession with Our Lady adorned with fresh white roses cascading on a handmade mahogany litter just like the celebrations in Fatima\, Portugal.\nNew this year\, the shrine’s services will have more relics to venerate of saints who honored Our Lady and had a special devotion to her: St. Domenic\, St. Catherine Laboure\, St. Louis De Monfort. There is also a holy relic of our Lady’s Veil.\nThe October closing Mass and procession will have an opportunity for brown scapular enrollment\, showing that by wearing the scapular that Our Lady gave to St. Simon Stock\, we venerate her\, love her\, and trust in her protection along with the many other protections it offers. St Simon Stock’s holy first class relic will be available for veneration. There will also be a closing reception in October.\nAttendance at these monthly services can help participants understand why Our Lady of Fatima came and what she is asking of us all\, giving the knowledge needed to respond to her call. \nThe shrine is looking for men ages 18 and older who can help carry the litter with the statue of Our Lady in some of the processions – to volunteer\, call Dave Will at 716-903-4139.
