DESCRIPTION:Join Sacred Heart of Jesus Diocesan Shrine to unite in prayer with the entire country in consecrating the United States of America on its 250th Anniversary to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This free\, rain-or-shine event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday\, June 12\, at the shrine\, 5337 Genesee St.\, Bowmansville (good-will offerings accepted). It will take place in the outdoor consecrated Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Shrine and Altar of Reparation. On this special evening\, participants will be united under God in Holy Mass\, prayers for the country\, the American flag\, and their Catholic faith as they celebrate the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.\nAfter Mass\, nationally known Catholic speaker Anne Costa will offer a special presentation to prepare those in attendance for an upcoming Sacred Heart of Jesus 12-Month Pilgrimage that kicks off in July 2026. Costa is a wife\, mother\, and best-selling author of six books\, the latest of which is “Healing Promises: The Essential Guide to the Sacred Heart.” She will do a deep dive into the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and explain why it is so desperately needed for all of us today. She shares in her book that the Sacred Heart is “…a devotion that’s one of the most recognizable in our Catholic faith\, yet one of the least understood. Many Catholics know the image but have yet to experience the depths of the love story behind it.” Anne will bring all of her books and will be available for questions at the reception after her presentation. Good-will offerings will be collected for Anne’s travel to the Shrine.\nThe fruit of participation: An evening of connecting your soul to the incredible love and hope in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and offering prayer for your country and neighbor. SUMMARY:Our Lady of Fatima Mass and Processions (Bowmansville)
DESCRIPTION:Sacred Heart of Jesus Diocesan Shrine will celebrate Our Lady of Fatima with Mass and processions at 6:30 p.m. on the 13th of each month\, from May through October.\nJoin in celebrating Our Lady’s appearances and the messages that she shared with three young shepherd children in Fatima\, Portugal\, in 1917. Our Lady of Fatima came to share some very important messages for all of humanity: prayer in the Holy Rosary\, fasting\, devotion to her Immaculate Heart\, and sacrifice to obtain peace for the world and the conversion of sinners.\nOur Lady appeared to the children on the 13th of every month from May through October. We acknowledge her appearances and requests of us on these same days with a monthly Holy Mass\, Rosary\, reading of her messages to the children\, and a procession with Our Lady adorned with fresh white roses cascading on a handmade mahogany litter just like the celebrations in Fatima\, Portugal.\nNew this year\, the shrine’s services will have more relics to venerate of saints who honored Our Lady and had a special devotion to her: St. Domenic\, St. Catherine Laboure\, St. Louis De Monfort. There is also a holy relic of our Lady’s Veil.\nThe October closing Mass and procession will have an opportunity for brown scapular enrollment\, showing that by wearing the scapular that Our Lady gave to St. Simon Stock\, we venerate her\, love her\, and trust in her protection along with the many other protections it offers. St Simon Stock’s holy first class relic will be available for veneration. There will also be a closing reception in October.\nAttendance at these monthly services can help participants understand why Our Lady of Fatima came and what she is asking of us all\, giving the knowledge needed to respond to her call. \nThe shrine is looking for men ages 18 and older who can help carry the litter with the statue of Our Lady in some of the processions – to volunteer\, call Dave Will at 716-903-4139.
