In 2012, he was appointed as the Fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Tyler by Pope Benedict XVI and was ordained to the episcopacy on November 28, 2012. After years of service, he retired as bishop emeritus of Tyler, Texas.   Be inspired by Bishop Strickland’s inspiring words: “The truth is what lasts…the truth is what has an eternal future, anything that takes us away from the church, is a world that will fall to dust… Please don’t leave the church, but learn your faith more deeply, and stand against anything that is contrary to the truth, that is Jesus Christ.”

After 18 years of Evangelical Protestantism, she entered the Catholic Church at Easter 1995.

Jim Havens is host and producer of The Simple Truth which airs each weekday from 4-5 PM (EST). The focus of the show is authentically receiving, living, and transmitting the simple Truth of Jesus and His Catholic Church.  Jim has been actively involved in pro-life work since 2004. His efforts include sidewalk ministry, hosting pro-life radio shows, and co-founding The Men’s March in 2021 to engage more men in the cause.
